I have sung in a choir since I was 10.
That's 32 harmony-filled years.
I've donned sequined vests and white pants for a children's choir in Cleveland called the Singing Angels, and I've sung in show choirs in High School, where I perfected the step-click and the double clap (an honored technique for Thespians all over the world!).
I've sung in choirs for Paul McCartney, 50 Cent, Julie Taymor, The NY Philharmonic, and many others.
Recently here in Colorado, I've found a fantastic choral ensemble called Anima, of which I'm a proud member.
You become a better singer when you sing with others because you:
match their color or texture
stay in rhythm
sing in tune
perform more often
read music
rehearse often and much more
"Adults who sing in choruses report significant personal benefits, including feeling less lonely and more connected to others." (1)
"Older choral singers report both a better quality of life and better overall health than the general public." (1)
Those benefits sound good to me!
If you sang when you were younger, it's time to dust off those vocal cords and find your local community choir!
The best way to get your voice back in shape is with the Sing with Josh technique.
You can think of it as "voice building."
The technique isolates and exercises the muscles that directly control your voice in a self-paced online course.
You can do it on your own time, at your own pace, and check-in with me when you have any questions.
I don't know of any other online singing course with direct access to the author.
Other benefits of the Sing with Josh Vocal Course:
Group Classes
A 30-minute private lesson with me
Lifetime access to the lessons
